I have always liked the idea of mixing and matching patterns and colors for dish ware (like the ones above) and displaying them in glass or open kitchen cabinets or a hutch. Here are some ideas I like from Martha Stewart...

Oh love these pics! I have the one with the floor to ceiling latte bowls in my design file and yet in my house i have all white dishes in open cabinets. The color is so much fun!
